Creating New Habits – Monday Motivator 6 November 2017

“We are what we repeatedly do.  Excellence is not an act but a habit.”

Aristotle

Hi everyone and welcome to the Monday Motivator – helping you get through your week.  This week we are going to be practising new habits.  As our quote says, we are what we repeatedly do, do the same old stuff, get the same old results.  Create new habits, do new things, think in a different way and get better results.

This was part of my message in my Financial freedom workshop that I ran last week.  Managing your money and creating Financial Freedom for yourself isn’t all that hard.  The formula is easy and easily learnt.  In a nutshell it’s spend less, save more!  Just like losing weight is also a simple formula – eat less, move more.  So if we know this stuff, why is it so hard to do it?

Our emotions, beliefs and thoughts get in the way.  Stuff that is held deep in our sub-conscious can get in the way.  Half the time, we aren’t even aware that it is happening.  The good news is that we can change this though.  Once we are aware what is stopping us from achieving the things we want, we can work on changing those beliefs from limiting us to empowering us.

Start by discovering the beliefs, emotions and thoughts that are stopping you.  Become aware of patterns that repeatedly result in you sabotaging yourself.  These could be long held beliefs that just don’t work for you.  It could be the little voice always telling you that you aren’t good enough.  What to do about that?  Create a new positive voice that tells you empowering things.  Think about what you would say to a friend who is struggling.  You would be supportive and encouraging and kind.  Not many of us provide that for ourselves.

If that is you and you want to change it.  Start this week by creating a habit of self acceptance and acknowledgement.  Create a habit of being your own best friend, the one who is always there no matter what.  Be the person who loves you, encourages you and supports you.  If you can create that habit, self sabotage will be a thing of the past.

Hope you have a brilliant week trying this out.  Please let me know if you want help with any of it click here to message me.
