Our quote this week is interesting it? Just take a moment and consider – what are you attracting to your life, is it positive or negative? Whatever it is, this will become your reality and is based on the Law of Attraction.
Whenever we think of the Law of Attraction, we tend to think of it attracting success, happiness, wealth etc., whatever it is that we want. It can work the other way as well though and it’s possible to go through life attracting to ourselves, all the things we don’t want. I see this happen in particular over attitudes to money. Money beliefs are nearly always inherited from our parents and the way we were brought up. If you come from a family who believed that life was a struggle and money is hard to come by, that becomes your subconscious belief. You won’t even be aware that you have it, but it lurks deep beneath the surface. These beliefs can quite often go back generations, and you find whole family trees made up of people who were struggling and poor. What a waste!
It needn’t be that way. All that is needed to turn around those deeply held beliefs and emotions is a bit of brain rewiring! Whenever I work with clients to help them overcome limiting beliefs or thoughts and emotions that are stopping them reach their potential, I am simply helping them create new neural pathways that will get them where they want to go and not stop them.
How do you begin to do a bit of brain rewiring? There are three keys to creating empowering beliefs that will attract whatever it is you want:
- Meditation – even 10 minutes a day can make a huge difference. Meditating reduces stress, depression and anxiety and increases energy and concentration. There are lots more benefits besides, but one of the main benefits is that deep meditation emits brainwaves that can make new neural pathways.
- Visualisation – practise running a clear picture in your head of what it is you want. Everytime you do that, you are starting to create a new pathway to achieving your dreams. Engage all your senses when doing this, feel, touch, smell, taste and see what you are doing. Some people are great at this, others need to work at it. The more you practise, the easier it gets. Vision boards are also very powerful ways of visualising and creating deep emotional beliefs that you can achieve what you want.
- Affirmations – create an empowering statement that flips your limiting belief. i.e. if you believe it’s hard to get money, you might want to say, “money flows freely to me and I always have enough for my needs”.
