“Never assume that you’re stuck with the way things are. Life changes every single moment and so can you.”
Hi Motivation Seekers, how are you? I hope you’ve had a good week and that those of you in NZ have had a great first week’s holiday with family.
These days, life is so full of so many demands, I think it’s getting harder and harder to just have time out. It’s especially hard I know, if your children are quite young. It seems like there is always so much to do and so little time to do it. I remember when my children were small, I was always so focused on getting things done. I wish now, that I had focused more on just “being” with them, goofing off, having fun and not being so driven to achieve, would have been better for me and for them.
There were so many times in my life, when I used to think that I was stuck. It took me years to learn that I was only as stuck as I let myself be. As our quote says, change is possible. If there are aspects of your life/work/career/business/family/relationships that aren’t working as well as you would like, you have the power to change that. We are only stuck when we tell ourselves that we can’t change.
Life is constant change, every cell in our body is different to what it was the day before, we are designed for change, so let’s embrace that and make it our intention to create the sort of life that we have always dreamt we could have.
A good place to start is with the life/balance review worksheet. I have shared this before, but it’s always good to review it periodically, as things are constantly changing and what was good last time you did it, may not be so good now. Here is the worksheet: https://jannmeehan.co.nz/wp-content/uploads/Wheel-of-Life-Jann-Meehan-Success-ch.pdf
The best way to complete it is to do it quickly. Answer it from the heart – don’t get into thinking too much, just go with your gut feeling. Then fill in the chart at the end and you will see an instant visual of what is working and what isn’t. Then you can concentrate on that one area that you want to work on. I strongly suggest that you just concentrate on one to begin with, as that makes it all more manageable and not so overwhelming.
Ask yourself the following questions: How am I being in this area of my life? What am I getting from this? How would I like it to be? What is stopping me? What can I do about that? Then resolve to make some little changes to achieve the vision of what you want. You may want to change some daily habits, start some affirmations, join a gym, join a club, learn something new, work less, play more…..whatever it is, you can do it. Know that you can bring about the change that you want.
Get started on that this week. Have an awesome week and start living your best life.
